"HGTV did very well with 'The Very Brady Renovation' show and several other shows and ancillary revenue streams." Each TV sibling was in charge of renovating a specific room in the home, re-creating the look from the iconic set. Dubbed the most epic home renovation ever (besides your own, of course), the revamp of a 1959 Studio City home into a phantasmagoric delight for “Brady Bunch” superfans is complete. We depend on ad revenue to craft and curate stories about the world’s hidden wonders.

Wood paneling and furniture was extremely popular during the era of "The Brady Bunch," and a lot of it was installed in the house for the final reveal. Wood paneling has made a comeback in today's homes, but with different hues and stains for a gentler look.

The home design network decided to turn the interior into a spitting image of the show’s set, enlisting several stars like Drew and Jonathan Scott to assist in the renovation. The home transformed on HGTV’s A Very Brady Renovation hit the market in May 2023 for a listing price of $5.5 million! The house, which was purchased by Tina Trahan for $3.2 million in September 2023, was designed to look like an exact replica of The Brady Bunch set. Photos of the North Hollywood, California, property will bring nostalgia to loyal fans of the ABC sitcom. The online listing for the midcentury house invites buyers to “own a piece of pop culture history,” and shows images of its detailed and polished 5,000-square-foot interior, which includes five bedrooms and bathrooms. After outbidding everyone in 2018 and plunking down $3.5 million for the famous sitcom home, HGTV just recently put it back on the market.

HGTV bought the house for $3.5 million in 2018 and added a second story and more than 2,000 square feet to make it look as close to the studio set house as possible. Much of the facade of the original house remained the same, for the exception of two windows. HGTV purchased the original Brady Bunch house back in 2018 for $3.5 million — paying almost double the asking price of $1,885,000.

The Brady Bunch House Is Officially a '70s Time Capsule

So HGTV enlisted the help of viewers to help find authentic 1970s artifacts that were in good condition, taking the designers on a cross-country search for items. The house wasn't used for interior shots during the show's filming, meaning that HGTV was going to have to renovate a house that never included things like the iconic stairway in order to project the Brady look. The network purchased the midcentury Studio City home in 2018 for $3.5 million, nearly twice the asking price, before filming a gut renovation that matched the famous exterior to replicas of the sitcom's set. “Reportedly it is the 2nd most photographed home in the USA after the White House. Own a piece of pop culture history and pay homage to American sitcom television," the listing added. The network documented the process on “A Very Brady Renovation,” which featured the six actors who played the Brady children.

” Spencer teamed up with Plumb to recreate Alice’s room, which is located at the back of the house. The two went thrifting in New York City for small items, made their way to Connecticut to pick up furniture, and Plumb even added a needlepoint mini pillow made by Ann B. Davis herself. Also, as part of the second episode, Good Bones stars Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine tackled three rooms—the boys’ room, the girls’ room, and the Jack and Jill bathroom. This time, Olsen was paired up with Lookinland and the two went thrift shopping. While many millennials did not witness the original run of "The Brady Bunch" sitcom, most of us watched reruns of the show on Nick at Nite during the 1990s.

Mike and Carol Brady's bedroom on "The Brady Bunch" was one of a few different bedrooms the designers were responsible for recreating. Heading back to the days of quilts, large lampshades, and wooden nightstands, pieces of this bedroom are classic enough to be used in a room today paired with modern stylings. The online listing for the home notes that "Reportedly it is the 2nd most photographed home in the USA after the White House." The project to transform "The Brady Bunch" home also reunited six original cast members, who joked at the time that HGTV paid "WAY too much" for the home. Although the Property Brothers are renovation pros, Drew and Jonathan might feel a little pressure with their important tasks.

"There was a bust of a women and it was like a little white figurine. Someone else had that same figurine in their house. So when you see the master bedroom, you'll see that white figurine." One special object they even include was the white figurine that was in the Brady parent's master bedroom. In the second episode, “Here’s the Story,” Hidden Potential host Jasmine Roth worked closely with Barry Williams (Greg Brady) to create Mike’s Den from three existing spaces—living room, hallway, and kitchen.

It goes without saying, potential buyers touring the property are blown away by the nostalgia that immediately hits them upon entering the home. "Especially [since it's] the Brady house, because every person in America, they think this house is their house and it really is." "As for Lance Bass, my brother from another mother, perhaps third time's a charm?" Brown said of the singer and podcast host's dream to own the classic home. The bedroom built to resemble the Brady brothers' room features a bunk bed and another bed, all decked out in blue bedspreads, while another bedroom for the Brady sisters includes three beds in matching pink bed linen. Trahan told "The Wall Street Journal" she plans on hosting charitable events and fundraisers at her new home, which she described as "a life-size dollhouse."

The renowned sitcom house address is Dilling Street in Studio City, California, 91602. HGTV will be be selling the house with much of its contents, including the green floral living room couch and a 3D-printed replica of the series’ horse sculpture. So for those with $5.5 million to burn, the listing is being managed by Danny Brown at Compass.

HGTV said the home will come with “many of its contents, including customized pieces such as the green floral living room couch and the credenza with a 3-D printed horse sculpture.” The house will be available for sale beginning this month. However, the inside of the home looked nothing like the rooms seen on the show. That’s because scenes that let viewers into the Brady residence were filmed on sets at Paramount Studios in Hollywood on Soundstage 5. On Yelp others have reported the security truck blocking part of the view of the house on the street with comments that the guard was not very pleasant. So, unfortunately, it sounds like the experience can be hit or miss.  I went around 5 pm on a Saturday.

The actor fully immersed himself in the process, helping with demo, construction, and furnishing, including updating a donated drafting table. Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady) joined them for a bit to help build the home's two-sided fireplace. Visitors who want to stop by "The Brady Bunch" house can prepare to appreciate the ranch-style home beloved by many sitcom viewers. Ranch-style homes can reflect the 1950s architectural sensibilities or the 21st century modernization, as Better Homes & Gardens explored.
